| Statistical / methods check | Where needed, review of statistics and methods by a reviewer with that expertise. |
| Editorial decision | Final decision by the Editor-in-Chief or a Co-Editor-in-Chief based on the reviews. |
| Copy-editing and typesetting | Language, references, tables and figures checked; journal template applied; DOI, dates, licence and copyright line added. |
| Author proof | Corresponding author checks and approves the final proof before publication. |
| Publication | Metadata checked (titles, authors, affiliations, ORCID, keywords, references, dates); DOI deposited with Crossref; article archived (see the Archives Policy). |
| After publication | Corrections, expressions of concern and retractions handled under the Retraction and Correction Policy. |
The editorial office reviews the journal's processes at least once a year, including review times, rejection rates, author and reviewer feedback, and any complaints, and publishes average review times on the website.
