When the APC is charged
- The APC is charged only after a manuscript has been accepted following peer review. Authors are never asked to pay before acceptance.
- Manuscripts accepted on or before 30 September 2026 are exempt from the APC.
- The APC applies to manuscripts accepted on or after 1 October 2026.
What the APC covers
Management of peer review, copy-editing, typesetting, Crossref DOI registration, online hosting, indexing support, and long-term archiving.
Payment
After acceptance the corresponding author receives an invoice with payment instructions. A receipt is issued for every payment.
Editorial independence
Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions. Editors and reviewers are not told whether an author has paid or requested a waiver.
